Ponce City Market

Ponce City Market

Revitalizing the historic Sears Roebucks building from 1926

Airspace was hired by Jamestown Properties to design and develop a new branded wayfinding system and environmental graphics program for Ponce City Market – the newly revived historic Sears, Roebuck & Co. building in Atlanta. The property is the area’s largest adaptive reuse project and includes a Central Food Hall, retail, two apartment wings and office space. Airspace took cues from the original exterior spectacular signage for the 16ft high neon roof letters and mounted illuminated blade sign facing the Atlanta Beltline park complete with working clock. The balance of the program utilized several fabrication techniques, blending old world and new. Inspiration for the graphics program came from the original use of the building – a housing and distribution center for Sears, Roebuck & Co. merchandise – and artifacts found on the site.
